Pig Mark 66. The Ash Tree is a relatively new build type of pub, dating back to the 1950s or 1960s by the looks of it. It’s a Fuller’s pub that also serves food and has a beer garden.
Visited on Wednesday 11th October 2017 at 15.40. Weather was dry with sunny spells.
Ordered a pint and a half of ESB for £6.00.

Piggy Dave: The Ash Tree was a Courage house back in the day but is now run by Fuller’s. There is a decent selection of Fuller’s beers on pump, five in all, but no guest ale. Music was playing in the background and we were served promptly by a smiling barmaid. A wide selection of comfy seats, a pool table, four screens and a couple of fruit machines. Quite a nice decor, not like your typical Fuller’s pub. The floor is carpeted and there is a decent garden out the back. They have live cover bands most weekends and poker night on Sunday. Very reasonably priced for ESB and really not bad for a Fuller’s pub, but doesn’t ooze friendliness. The gents desperately needs a paint job and someone to fix the pipe beneath the urinals.

Piggy Corin: A Fuller’s pub with five of their beers on tap. My half of ESB was just as expected. There were a few locals here when we arrived and service was prompt and friendly. There is plenty of room, squashy sofas, wooden chairs and tables – all clean and not sticky. A pool table, Sky Sports and not too obtrusive background music provide the entertainment. There are also daily papers to peruse should you wish. The atmosphere is fairly sedate, but given we visited late afternoon this is not too surprising. I’m not sure how this would change as the evening regulars start arriving. Football is shown on a large screen and live music is a regular feature.
