The Weir, Brentford

The Weir, 22-24 Market Pl, Brentford TW8 8EQ. Telephone: 020 8568 3600. Website: http://www.theweirbar.co.uk/
Pig Mark 52. The Weir was originally named The White Horse when it was built in 1603 and is the oldest remaining pub in Brentford. It was probably rebuilt somewhere around the 1920s to what is thought to be a Nowell Parr design, due to the Royal Doulton tiles outside. A plaque on the wall outside notes that it was home to the artist JMW Turner in 1785 (when he was ten years old). In the 1980s the pub was extended to take in the neighbouring Victorian house. It was renamed The Weir in 2002.
