Pig Mark 91. Originally built in 1614 as The Pye and was (apparently) mentioned in Samuel Pepys’ Diaries. By 1722 it was named The Magpie & Crown and rebuilt sometime about the 1920s or 1930s in a mock Tudor style. The Magpie & Crown is a real community pub and also serves food during lunchtime and evenings. With a nod to its history, it was featured as ‘The Pye’ In D S Floyd’s murder mystery, Must Flea.
