The Stable, Unit 128, Kew Bridge Road, Brentford TW8 0FJ. Telephone: 020 8568 8667. Website: http://stablepizza.com/locations/kew-2/
Pig Mark 75. The Stable is a pizza and cider chain with subtle localised differences between each branch. Whilst not technically a pub, they offer a very wide range of ciders alongside some craft beers and as they are happy for people to pop in for just a drink, fulfil our criteria as an appropriate drinking hole for BeerPigs.
Visited on Monday 23rd October 2017 at 19.20. Weather was mild.
Ordered half of Dorset Draft and half of Pig Reveller for £4.70.

Piggy Dave: The Stable is more of a pie and pizza restaurant but as they have such a great selection of ciders and are happy for people to just come in with a drink, we figured we’d include it. The lighting is nicely dimmed, but the music is a little loud for my liking. There are over thirty draft ciders available (they claim over sixty so presumably have more in bottles). The very friendly server was happy to chat and describe the differences between the ciders, and for us to taste a couple before making a decision. It was a little pricey and if you get into the craft beers you’ll be paying £9-10 a pint, but as it’s a restaurant one expects a small bump and the ciders were considerably cheaper than the beers. The server also came and wiped the table before we sat to make sure it was clean. They offer vegan pizzas as well as the usual. I’d certainly consider coming here if I wanted a pizza and a cider in the future, or perhaps in the summer if I want to chill outside with a few ciders and watch the river flow by.

Piggy Corin: ALERT, ALERT … NO ALES … However, The Stable is part of a national chain of cider, pizza & pie bar/restaurants. We were welcomed cheerfully and quickly. After a couple of tasters of the excellent array of ciders, we settled on our order. They were very well kept and slipped down easily. Despite being primarily a restaurant, they were happy for us to just have a drink (though it wasn’t busy – whether this is the case when they’re packed I don’t know). When we arrived there were a few people eating and during our visit, families with young children arrived as well as a middle-aged couple. The Stable appeals to a good range of customers. The decor is rustic with wooden tables, benches, dimmed lighting and a pleasant Thamesside view and it has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere though the bass could be brought down on the sound system a notch or two. All in all, if you fancy a cider then The Stable could suit you well.
